United States winter Olympians and Paralympians are visiting the White House on Thursday, just two days after the World Series Champions Boston Red Sox’ visit (pictured above).
From USA Today:
The president and first lady Michelle Obama “will congratulate the Olympians and Paralympians on their performance and thank them for representing the United States during the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia,” says the White House.
Well they’re at the White House and Buzzfeed compiling a bunch of social media posts from the guests chronicling their visit. One in particular stood out to me, a video from bobsledder Jazmine Fenlator of some Olympians having a dance off. It is all in good fun, let’s be clear about that, but I found it interesting that a couple of Olympians decided to twerk on the White House lawn.
Is visiting the White House to meet the president and first lady, not an occasion worthy of twearking? It seems like an odd and inappropriate time to twerk to me, but then again, I’m also making the transition from young, outgoing partier to “quiet down and get off my lawn.”
