On Thursday night, the St. Louis Blues were able to top the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 2-1, which earned the team their 52nd win of the season and set a new Blues franchise record for most wins in a season.

While the record is something that the fans and the team can enjoy, the reality is that the team will have to keep their eyes on the ultimate prize and continue pushing for a deep postseason run.

“(The record) is a special thing, but tomorrow it really means nothing,” the team’s netminder, Brian Elliott, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

St. Louis will look to extend their franchise record on Saturday when they host the Colorado Avalanche at the Scottrade Center.
