The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been closely monitoring the off-field activity of wide receiver Mike Williams. After Williams’ latest incident that included a trip to the hospital after being stabbed by his brother, the team has decided to cut all ties.

Rather than simply releasing Williams, the team has decided to get something in return by trading Williams to the wide receiver needy Buffalo Bills, who sent a sixth-round pick to Tampa Bay in return.

James Walker of ESPN passed along the news:

The Bills will now have a quality receiver opposite Stevie Johnson, as they add another weapon for young quarterback E.J. Manuel.

Prior to entering the NFL, Williams played under Bills head coach Doug Marrone at Syracuse.
