Cleveland Indians fan in redface meets Native American

Sports fans have been known to do some pretty stupid things from time to time, but one idiotic, insensitive and ignorant Cleveland Indians fan took it to a whole new level today.

The fan covers his face in red and in a moment that could not be more awkward tries to shake the hand of a real life genuine Native American.

I would love to privy to this exchange as this racist idiot extends his hand only to get daggers in return as the Native American stares deep into his soul.

As the conversation over the use of Native American nicknames and logos wages on with the Washington Redskins embroiled in a lengthy controversy over their name, the Indians Chief Wahoo mascot is in the same category of completely insensitive and racist.

Patrick Schmidt, I hope no one actually pays you to write this garbage. What exactly is racist about a cartoon caricature? This is a dead issue. The only people bringing this up are the media and 5 protestors once a year.

Brian, thanks for reading and your insightful comment. Making light of an entire race of people with a ‘cartoon caricature’ is at the very, very least in poor taste. Maybe you and I have differing opinions on racism, but this is not a dead issue, just ask Daniel Snyder. Thanks for your comment and have a great day.
