On Friday afternoon, reports surfaced that there was a potential pay-per-view bout between two of the top women’s bantamweight competitors outside of the UFC, Legacy FC’s Holly Holm and Invicta FC’s Cris Cyborg, but those reports appear to be false.
According to Holm’s manager, a pay-per-view fight featuring the two fighters has never been discussed.
The rumors started when Holm’s longtime trainer, Mike Winklejohn, told MMAFighting.com that the bout was being considered.
However, Winklejohn and Holm’s manager don’t appear to be on the same page.
According to her manager “No one has spoken to us about a pay per view fight between Holly Holm & @criscyborg- as such any rumors are false”

The Holm-Cyborg fight had potential to be a big seller, so it is disappointing that there is no truth to the rumors.
Perhaps down the road an agreement could be made, but history shows that Holm’s manager may be difficult to deal with so it wouldn’t be a surprise if there was never anything that came to fruition.
