J.J. Hardy scratched from Orioles' lineup

J.J. Hardy has been one of the Orioles’ most durable players, but he’ll sit out a game early in the season, just as a precaution.

Rich Dubroff of CSN Baltimore says that the shortstop will sit out today’s game with neck spasms. The slight injury is possibly a combination of  a defensive attempt when he jumped for a ball and lack of rest due to a delayed flight. Ryan Flaherty will start at short in his stead.

Hardy has played in all but seven games for Baltimore in the last two years.
