Before he was coaching Johnny Manziel to a Heisman Trophy at Texas A&M, getting compared to Ryan Gosling and prior to being named the head coach at his alma mater, Kliff Kingsbury put up record-breaking numbers as a star quarterback for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
We may get a glimpse to see if there is any magic left in the right arm of Kingsbury very soon as he said he’s like to play a series in the Red Raiders spring game.
Kliff Kingsbury is considering playing a series in Texas Tech’s upcoming spring game.

When we last saw Kingsbury in a Tech jersey he led the NCAA in pass attempts, completions, touchdowns and yards when he threw for 5, 017 yards and 45 touchdowns in Mike Leach’s air-raid offense when he finished ninth in the Heisman voting in 2002.
I love this idea by Kingsbury to get in the mix and show off his competitive side in a glorified scrimmage and give the fans an added reason to come out for the game. I hope this catches on elsewhere because I’d love to see Steve Spurrier in a helmet and shoulder pads and throw the pigskin around at South Carolina.
