The thumb injury that has plagued Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun for some time might be back.
The embattled slugger will play in the Brewers game on Friday, but will be taken out of the outfield and will be placed in the designated hitter slot as he’s reportedly having thumb issues.
Braun’s right thumb is a problem again. Lots of details coming to
#Brewers .com, none of which are pleasant if you’re a fan of the team.
As you may recall, Braun lost significant power in his stroke dealing with this injury before, so it’s understandably concerning for all involved.
There’s been no reports as to how Braun suffered the injury, or if it’s just become a problematic situation that may keep reoccurring.
Surgery has not been talked about as an option at this point as they’re still attempting to figure out the nature of the injury and if surgery could even help it. Braun admitted to having severe numbness in his thumb.
It remains to be seen how it will hamper his at-bat’s moving forward, though the news is certainly not welcoming.
