NBA Rumors: Steve Nash likely playing final game of season

The Los Angeles Lakers are heading to the NBA lottery and with nothing left to play for outside of pride, they’re likely to give Steve Nash the rest of the season off after he plays against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.

D’Antoni says that Pau is out vs DAL. Nash will play. Henry is out for the rest of the season. Kaman out tonight too. Steve Nash says that tonight vs. DAL will likely be the last game he plays this season.

Nash is still struggling to recover from a variety of injuries and has clearly been hampered when on the court.

With little to play for and his injuries continuing to derail him, Nash understandably decided he should cut his season short.

The Lakers haven’t officially announced what they plan to do with Nash going into the 2014-15 season, though speculation is that they will keep him on the roster as to avoid paying him over the course of three years by using the stretch provision.

Nash’s presumed final game of the 2013-14 season will come against his former Dallas Mavericks.
