Ryan Braun to DH for Brewers against Red Sox

Despite a nagging thumb injury that reared its ugly head again, Ryan Braun has every intent of playing in the series that pits the Brewers against the Red Sox for Fenway Park’s home opener.

Braun, according to MLB Network Radio, will be the Designated Hitter in the American League park. Over the course of interleague play, Braun has only played in 5 games as a DH but does have a homer from that spot.

The thumb injury is something that hurt Braun last year, as on top of his season-ending suspension, he only played in 61 games for the Brew Crew. He will try to play through the injury and has not ruled out surgery as an option.
