Friday finished out the first work week in April with another jam-packed Streak for the Cash board.  Today’s schedule starts with another ICC WorldTwenty20 Cricket match before a crowded MLB slate this afternoon.  There is a single soccer match this afternoon along with the heaps of hardball.  Tonight, the NBA and NHL join even more baseball to give us a solid board of 15 picks.

Here are my picks for the day with a quick reason why I picked that way, and I also included my confidence on a scale of 1-10.

4/4 Streak Picks

9:00- India: India is heavily favored, but anything can happen in Cricket especially when the Streak percentages are tilted this much. Confidence-3

Mar 29, 2014; Fort Myers, FL, USA; Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Jake Peavy (44) delivers a pitch against the Minnesota Twins during their game at JetBlue Park. Mandatory Credit: Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

1:40- Keegan Bradley of Tie: Bradley lit it up yesterday and is just one off the lead heading into round 2 while Phil also played well and sits three back.  Phil also is a bit unpredictable now due to his injury, so take the tie and go with Bradley. Confidence-5

2:05- Boston Red Sox: The Red Sox will get their rings and hand the ball over to their most emotional starter Jake Peavy.  The Brewers will be in town after dropping two of three to the Braves in their opening series.  Since they’re at Fenway, I’ll take the Sox. Confidence-6

2:20- Chicago Cubs: Chicago will also be playing their home opener too as they loot to Travis Wood to get them their second win in a row after beating the Pirates yesterday afternoon.  They’ll be hosting the Phillies in this one who will start Roberto Hernandez who struggled last year with Tampa.  Wood was solid for Chicago last season, and I think he’ll get them a win in this one this afternoon. Confidence-3

2:30- AC Ajaccio win, draw, or lose by 1: Yes, AC Ajaccio is at the bottom of the table, but they’ve been playing better lately and haven’t lost by multiple goals in their last five. When they met earlier this season Marseille won by two on the road and now host AC Ajaccio, but Marseille hasn’t won by multiple goals in their last eight league matches.  Ajaccio is in much better form than earlier this year and should be able to keep it close. Confidence-4

4:10- Colorado Rockies: The D-Backs are just 1-5 as they head to Denver to take on the Rockies in the opener at Coors Field.  Colorado took just one of four from the Marlins in their opening series but should get a boost from being at home.  Neither of these teams are playing well, but I’d lean toward the home team. Confidence-3

4:10- Kansas City Royals: The Royals are looking for their first win of the season after losing two in a row to Detroit, but they’ll start their home schedule against the White Sox this afternoon behind Jeremy Guthrie.  They’re favored against Chicago and young unproven starter Erik Johnson.  The White Sox bullpen let them down yesterday against Minnesota, while the Royals ‘pen should be well rested after a rainout yesterday. Confidence-5

Apr 2, 2014; San Diego, CA, USA; Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly (8) congratulates shortstop Hanley Ramirez (13) after a win against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park. The Dodgers won 5-1. Mandatory Credit: Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

4:10- Los Angeles Dodgers: The Dodgers Hyun-Jin Ryu has already made a pair of solid starts as he takes the mound for LA in their home opener against their rivals the Giants.  San Fracisco will counter Ryu with Ryan Vogelsong making his first start of the season after a tough season last year. Ryu at home is a solid pick especially since Vogelsong is unpredictable at this point. Confidence-6

7:00- New Jersey Devils: New Jersey is at home as they take on the Capitals who have lost four straight and are limping to the finish of the NHL season. The Devils have taken two of three from Washington this season and are 2-0-1 in their last thre home games. I think the Devils extend the Capitals’ slide tonight at the Prudential Center. Confidence-3

7:00- Chicago Blackhawks: Chicago visits Columbus who they beat 6-1 in their earlier meeting this season.  Both teams did play just last night and the Blue Jackets came up with a big win against the Flyers.  The Blackhawks are the better team as long as they bring their A-game. Confidence-4

7:00- Indiana Pacers: The Pacers have had their issues on the road as they head to Toronto continuing to battle the Heat for top spot in the East.  The Raptors have been playing well but may be without star point guard Kyle Lowry and starting forward Amir Johnson.  Toronto  is 23-14 at home, but I think Indiana will be able to clamp down on defense and get a little bit of their momentum back by knocking off the Raps. Confidence-3

7:07- New York Yankees: The Yankees paid lots of money to Masahiro Tanaka this offseason and he’ll make his much-aticipated debut tonight against the Blue Jays and Dustin McGowan in Toronto.  It’s the Blue Jays’ home opener, but I think Tanaka helps the Yankees steal their thunder and beat their AL East rival in their first meeting of the year. Confidence-3 1/2

7:10- Miami Marlins: The 3-1 Marlins have been one of the biggest surprises of the early season as they host the Padres and face Eric Stults who they hit well last season.  I don’t know how sustainable Miami’s run is, but they’re in better form right now than the 1-2 Padres, so go Fish at home. Confidence-3

7:10- Grizzlies win by Double Digits: I hate giving points in NBA matchups, but Memphis is really good at home while the Nuggets struggle on the road.  Earlier this season, Memphis won by 21 at the FedEx Forum where they’ll meet again tonight and even stole a two-point win in Denver in the most recent meeting of the two teams. Reluctantly, I’ll give the points here. Confidence-4

7:11- No at least 1 team doesn’t score 45+ Pts in 1st half: Confidence-3

Apr 2, 2014; Orlando, FL, USA; Cleveland Cavaliers forward Alonzo Gee (33) dunks the ball as the Cavaliers beat the Orlando Magic 119-98 at Amway Center. Mandatory Credit: David Manning-USA TODAY Sports

7:30- Cleveland Cavaliers: The Cavs have Kyrie Irving back and are looking for their sixth win in seven games as they continue their last playoff push.  Tonight they’ll take on the Hawks who have been headed the other direction going 7-21 in their last 28 games and falling out of playoff position.  The Hawks have won their two previous meetings this season, but the Cavs are playing so much better now that I think they’ll win despite being four-point road underdogs. Confidence-4 1/2

8:10- Los Angeles Angels: The Angels are still looking for their first win of the season as they give the ball to Garrrett Richard in Houston tonight. The Astros looked good against the Yankees in their opening series, but I don’t have confidence enough to Lucas Harrell against the LA lineup to pick against the Angels in this one. Confidence-3

8:30- Nuggets first 3PM of 3rd Qtr: Coin-flip pick but a quick jump start if you’re in the red or ready to give up on your early window selection. Confidence-1

10:00- Portland Trail Blazers: The Blazers are at home where they are 27-9 on the season as they look to win their fifth in a row.  LaMarcus Aldridge is back and helping the Blazers make a late run for homecourt in the playoffs which would be a huge factor since they’re so dominant at the Moda Center.  In their three previous meetings this season with the Suns, the home team has won each matchup, and I think that trend continues tonight. Confidence-6

10:05- Seattle Mariners:  The Mariners got off to a great start to the year against the Angles and now are in Oakland to face the reigning AL West Champs. Offseason acquisition Chris Young takes the mound for Seattle against Dan Straily.  The A’s offense hasn’t started clicking while the Mariners new-look lineup is in better form right now. Confidence-4
