The first week of the fantasy baseball season wraps up with a full 15-game schedule this Sunday with  the West Coast rivalry between the Giants and Dodgers taking center stage on Sunday Night Baseball.  Some leagues have extended the first scoring period to cover the first two weeks while others wrap up today, so make sure to check your league to know how much risk you can afford today as you make your moves.

If you need starting pitching help, these are the options I like the most who are likely on your wavier wire who are scheduled to start Sunday.  All of my selections are available in at least half of ESPN leagues and their ownership percentages is included in parentheses. Check back each afternoon for the next days pickups, and if you have any questions, you can find me on twitter @ZT_Sports or drop a comment in the box at the bottom of the page. The options I think you should consider for pickup are below and in the following slides with my results so far on the final slide.

Nate Eovaldi-Miami Marlins (4.6%)

Eovaldi got off to a solid start to his season with a six-inning, two-run win over the Rockies.  He picked up six K’s in six innings at Marlins Park where he’ll take the mound Sunday afternoon against the struggling Padres.

Eovaldi is gathering momentum as a possible breakout performer this season.  I’m not sure I’m ready to go all in on Eovaldi yet, but he is a great matchup, at home, and pitching well.  He’s the top option if you need a pickup and  plugin starter.  If he turns in another good outing, he may be worth holding on to for at least a while since the Marlins offense is producing more than originally expected.
