The Green Bay Packers seldom go out and spend on the free agent market but they did exactly that this offseason when they inked Julius Peppers to a deal that will see him switch to linebacker. But while Peppers will be a dual threat for the Packers on defense, they’re still looking to beef up their linebacking corps anyway they can and that means building through the draft.

Green Bay has been lucky and wise when it comes to who they draft, and ESPN’s Rob Demovsky believes that the next in line for the Packers’ draft day success could be Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley.

Per ESPN.com:

"Neither A.J. Hawk nor Brad Jones can run with the best inside linebackers in the league. So to your point, perhaps that is the better way to go with the first-round pick. Certainly a player like C.J. Mosley of Alabama would fit that description if he were still on the board when the Packers pick at 21."

If the Packers don’t go defense in the first round, it will be surprising. They almost always go defense in the first round and snag offensive needs and wants later on. Mosley may not even be on the board when the Packers go on the clock but he’s still a name Packer fans should get familiar with.
