The Oklahoma State Cowboys landed their best commitment in the class of 2015 to date on Sunday when 4-star running back Ronald Jones II committed to the Cowboys over the Oklahoma Sooners, Baylor Bears and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, among others.
Jones looked like an Oklahoma or possibly Baylor lean.
The 6’0, 185-pound Jones attends McKinney North High School in McKinney, Texas.
Since Jones also had offers from both in-state powers, the Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies and was offered by national powers like the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, Southern California Trojans and Wisconsin Badgers, this was quite the impressive get for the Cowboys.
Jones is ranked as the eighth best running back prospect, the 11th best overall prospect in the state of Texas and the 86th best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Jones becomes the third commitment for the Cowboys in the class of 2015, joining 3-star quarterback John Kolar and 3-star guard Johnny Wilson.
