T-60: Clint Dempsey scored a hat trick as the Seattle Sounders drew with the Portland Timbers, 4-4. The Montreal Impact drew 2-2 with the New York Red Bulls, as did the Chicago Fire and Philadelphia Union. Michael Bradley was on point as Toronto FC shut out the Columbus Crew 2-0 while Jose Mari’s maiden brace gave the Colorado Rapids a 2-1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps.

T-58: D.C. United shut out the New England Revolution 2-0, FC Dallas routed the Houston Dynamo 4-1 and both Sportin Kansas City and Real Salt Lake played to a scoreless draw.

T-54:  “They’re a better team, no question about it,” Bruce Arena told LAGalaxy.com’s Larry Morgan. “They’ll fight real hard for 90 minutes. Their opening month of the season has been good.”

“The fact they’re better this year isn’t a surprise,” Galaxy (0-1-1) defender Todd Dunivant said. “We know they were going to be. Getting Rosales on their team helped a lot, and Torres up front. They have more dangerous weapons now. Wilmer knows this league and how to win. We’re going to have to earn it if we want to win.”

T-50: “We keep maintaining our shape,” Cabrera told CDChivasUSA.com’s Alex Arpiza. “We keep having discipline. Everyone works, everyone runs, we battle. That is the good part. We now have to add a little to our talent, to our soccer and obviously go at the opponents’ goal with more chances.

T-45: As for Galaxy II, they will be taking on Oklahoma City Energy FC tomorrow. Catch the action live on LAGalaxy.com!

T-42: Both teams going through warmups.

T-35: Some memories from the past…

T-23: Lineups.

T-0: Both teams re-enter the pitch to the strains of the MLS Anthem.

FIRST HALF START: 12:06 p.m. PT/3:06 p.m. ET

1′ – The first half begins, here at the Hub. That’s one “Arriba Las Chivas!”

2′ – Leonardo has been on a coldstreak this year. He’ll need to snap out of it. Throw-in now to LA. Almost looked offsides on that pass back.  Here is Brian Perk, just on the rebound after a long offseason. In addition to what was mentioned on the Bold Predictions, picking your poison will work for the designated home team.

3′ – Long pass from Danny Gargan. Headed into the arms of Danny Kennedy. Perk gives chase. Now here is Omar Gonzalez. That’s too long for Landon Donovan.

4′ – Erick Torres. No dice. Gargan again.  Some hesitation in the back.

5′ – Throw-in for the Galaxy. Carlos Alvarez closes down space and wins a throw.

6′ – Advantage played to Chivas, but that long pass is wasted for a goal kick to Perk.

7′ – Juninho wins that argument. Donovan offsides. Free kick, taken short. No sweat for LA’s No. 1. Gargan…too long. But it will be a corner.

8′ – Not well-headed. Referee Drew Fischer sees something he doesn’t like.

9′ – Marcelo Sarvas’s first shot is wide right. Tried to chip Kennedy there.

10′ – A barbecue in the Union Ultras end. Sarvas gets challenged.

11′ – LA prefer to slow the pace down and also pick their poison, too.

12′ – This could go down to which midfielder is more competent. Here is Andrew Jean-Baptiste.

13′  – Landon Donovan misses wide right.

14′ – Fischer awards a restart to Chivas USA. Here’s Mauro Rosales. Corner for Chivas USA. Two.

15′  – A bit too long for Donovan there. Kennedy collects.

16′ – Corner, Galaxy.  Headed out.  Take two. Headed out again.

17′ – Another shot for LA is blocked. Not well-thought out there.

18′  – Here’s a chance for Chivas. Headed out, and then cleared by Omar Gonzalez.

19′  – Cubo Torres now. Too high, from a tight angle as well. Good marking of Keane by Eriq Zavaleta.

20′ – Hello, we may have a low-scoring chess match this afternoon. Still scoreless.

21′ – Keane wins a free from 30 yards out, somewhere along those lines.

22′ – And Keane is offsides. Goal kick to Dan Kennedy.

23′ – I can concur that the Galaxy are winning the possession battle, but that’s not going to win you the game. Good atmosphere here.

24′ – Gonzalez was nearly caught napping again. Corner, Chivas.

25′ – Three of the “¡Arriba Las Chivas!” calls. Cleared. Make it four with another corner.

26′ – Yellow card 33 Dan Gargan
Los Angeles Galaxy

Wide left on the free kick.

27′ – Warm weather for Spring here in Southern California. Oddly enough, I am blogging live in a sweater. Throw-in, LA. Galaxy press. Zavaleta again with excellent dispossession.

28′ – Cleared, and Fischer waves it back due to a foul in the box.

29′ – Throw-in, Gargan. Keane’s asking for a whistle; not gonna get it.  Here come the Goats. Cleared.

30′ – A long pass for Donovan is collected by Kennedy.

31′  – A cross from Stefan Ishizaki is deflected. Chivas USA win advantage and Galaxy are forced to drop back.

32′ – Some tidy passing here for LA in this minute.

33′  – Gargan now. Ishizaki is double-teamed. Agustin Pelletieri is hurt.

34′  – There may be some extra time this half for that.

35′  – Galaxy miss again. Goal kick, Kennedy. Chivas USA are counting their blessings.

36′ – And again, the LA Galaxy are building up their possession percentage…Kennedy with a collection.

37′ – GOAL! Los Angeles Galaxy 7 Robbie Keane
Game on here at the StubHub Center. I thought Kennedy had a hand to that. Good shot.

38′ – Chivas are now on notice. LA aren’t messing around now.

39′ – Galaxy are looking to double their advantage, but the Goats are standing tall.

40′ – If you’re just joining us on the blog, we have a Chivas player carded.

Yellow card 9 Erick Torres
Chivas USA

41′ -This may end up becoming decisive.

42′ – GOAL! Los Angeles Galaxy 24 Stefan Ishizaki
And the G’s double their advantage with Ishizaki opening his scoring account. Welcome to the SuperClasico, Stefan.

43′   – Perk will collect that.  Some composure will need to be in order.

44′ – A sliding clearance from…Leonardo? Well, I never! Back come LA.

45′ – Chivas hold firm and regroup. Perk resets, and dishes it to Omar Gonzalez.

45′ + 1′ – One minute, says Alejandro Mariscal. Well, Ishizaki made a meal of that dribble.

The Galaxy should have opened the door wide open on Chivas USA earlier in the match, but now that they have a healthy lead, the onus is on the G’s to really break the door wide open and finish. Look for Adolfo “Bofo” Bautista to leave his mark in the second half.

I will say this: that is one of the strangest goals you will see from Robbie Keane in a Galaxy uniform. What a howler for Dan Kennedy in the 37th minute of play.

SECOND HALF START: 1:08 P.M. PT/4:08 P.M. ET

46′ – The second half starts. Five now.

Substitution Chivas USA
IN 11  Leandro Barrera
OUT 19 Luke Moore

47′ – A speculative clearance from Brian Perk. Baggio Husidic is held up.  LA win a throw.

48′ – Husidic is shaken up. Rosales goes into the book.

Yellow card 7 Mauro Rosales
Chivas USA

49′ – Leonardo plays it back. Too much mustard from Robbie Keane. Perk is forced to slow it down. That found Ishizaki but he didn’t reel it in.

50′ – Corner, Los Angeles. Keane wins that one.

51′ – Headed out.  And Los Angeles collect. Not as one-sided a match as you would imagine, but still one-sided.

52′ – Bodies are falling everywhere here, and LA still can’t finish.

53′ – Dan Kennedy plays it forward.

54′ – “Not so fast, Cubo,” says Brian Perk. Gargan makes a meal of that reception.

55′ – Chivas are doing a great job pressing this half. Perk swoops for the collection.

56′ – GOAL! Los Angeles Galaxy 6 Baggio Husidic
And now Baggio opens up his scoring account. That came off the Robbie Keane recovery. The new blood is making it great today.

57′ – Substitution Los Angeles Galaxy

IN 9 Samuel
OUT 24 Stefan Ishizaki

58′ – Samuel nearly broke loose there.

59′ – Throw-in, LA.

60′ – A Roberto Baggio-style miss from Baggio Husidic. It’s the hour mark, LA on top 3-0 over Chivas here on the Multiplex. Juninho now.

61′ – Eriq Zavaleta plays it forward. Perk with the long clearance.

62′ – Donovan now.  Gargan makes a meal of that. Back come Chivas USA. Husidic takes that. Now this is a bit of a midfield skirmish.

63′ – Husidic couldn’t get to that pass because he ran out of space. Donovan didn’t expect that one. Marcelo Sarvas loses the pass.

64′ – Mauro Rosales plays it forward for Chivas USA. Short. And Drew Fischer sees something he doesn’t like. Again.

65′ – Chivas and Los Angeles exchange shots.

66′ – Omar Gonzalez fails there.

67′ – Here comes Los Angeles with possession, and they give it away to Andrew Jeap-Baptiste, who also gives it away.

68′ – If you’re just joining us, Chivas USA were offsides on that one. Galaxy lead 3-0.

69′ – Corner for the Goats. Six now. Good extension from Gonzalez to head that one away.

70′ – Offsides, Landon Donovan. Well. Who would have guessed?

71′ – And once again, it’s a midfield struggle.

72′ – The Galaxy are content to slow the pace down for a change.

73′ – Had some Internet connection issues along the way, but we’re back.

74′ – There’s a player down for Los Angeles, it seems to be Dunivant. 15,008 in attendance.

75′ – Substitution Los Angeles Galaxy

IN 36 Oscar Sorto
OUT 2 Todd Dunivant

76′ – LA on the breakaway again. I don’t think Donovan will get the record today.

77′ – Here comes the always-polarizing Bofo Bautista. Samuel nearly got there.

78′ – Free kick, LA, Headed by Leonardo, collected by Kennedy.

79′ – Substitution Chivas USA

IN 10 Adolfo Bautista
OUT 9 Erick Torres

80′ – Bofo might be coming a tad too late here to save Chivas, but you never know.  He might pull one back. Goal kick, Dan Kennedy. Keane gets whistled.

81′ – Oooh, that nearly turned this game on its head. Brian Perk, doing all he can to keep the shutout.

82′ – Chivas on the attack again. The fans are asking for a penalty, they wo;’t get it. Almost. And I think someone is hurt for LA.

83′ – Sarvas takes his time to recover. Bofo nearly gets on goal. Perk is slow to get up.

84′ – Husidic…right at Kennedy. And the ball…might have hit him in…the balls. #Irony

85′ – Substitution Los Angeles Galaxy
IN 21 Tommy Meyer
OUT 33 Dan Gargan

86′ – Kept that in bounds. Impressive recovery. LA win a throw. Galaxy will look to melt the clock.

87′ – Kennedy collects in a traffic jam.

88′  – Good stuff there from Mauro Rosales and Eric Avila. First time I called his name. That won’t reach Bofo.

89′ – Samuel now. Jean-Baptiste on his tail. And Kennedy foils the record, again.

90′ – Ole time as Mariscal calls for two minutes of extra time.

90′ + 1′  – The shot from Donovan is blocked. The wall does its job. More ‘Ole time.’

90′ + 2′ — That’s it.
