Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Dodgers exchange pitchers

The Cleveland Indians and Los Angeles Dodgers were able to come to an agreement on a trade that would have them exchange pitchers. Basic trade, a lefty for a righty, nothing too serious.

The Indians have sent left handed pitcher Colt Hynes to the Dodgers for right handed pitcher Duke Von Schamann. Schamannn is a former 15th round pick and will report to Double-A Akron. The 22 year old finished the 2013 Minor League season with a 11-7 record, 131 innings pitched with a 4.67 ERA.

He’s only made one start so far this year, pitching seven shut out innings for the Chattanooga Lookouts. The Dodgers picked up left handed pitcher Colt Hynes. Hynes made his Major League debut with the San Diego Padres back on July 14, 2013 in a 10-1 victory.

Hynes was later designated for assignment then traded for cash considerations to the Indians on October 31, 2013. They designated him for assignment on March 30, only to be traded once again.

The lefty reliever will report to Triple-A Albuquerque.
