Gabby Douglas returning to Iowa for training

It was almost two years ago that American Gabby Douglas was able to bring home the all-around gymnastics gold medal for the United States at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, and she has yet to return to competition.

With the two year anniversary of her stunning Olympics performance coming up, which also included the team gold, Douglas has decided to leave California in order to return to Des Moines, Iowa where she initially trained for her stint in London.

Douglas wants to return to work with coach Liang Chow, who also coached 2008 Olympic champion Shawn Johnson, as she targets her return.

The report comes from USA Today.

Douglas, the first African-American woman to win an all-around gold in the Olympics, is hoping to compete at the 2014 U.S. Championships, which will take place this August.
