Jake “the Snake” Roberts was one of the more memorable and biggest stars of the World Wrestling Federation in the the 1980s and early 90′s before his life became unraveled as a result of abusing drugs and alcohol and later a bout with cancer.
Roberts was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday and if not for the efforts of Diamond Dallas Page, Saturday’s induction could have been a posthumous one as Roberts has DDP to thank for being alive today and in his induction speech thanked him for saving his life in an emotional speech.
The real emotional stuff begins at the 18 minute mark and you don’t have to be a big fan of him or even wrestling for that matter to recognize the 180-degree turn his life has taken since hitting rock bottom and appreciate the raw emotion pouring out of him in this tale of redemption as he has made the most of his second chance at life.
He wasn’t the biggest star during his tenure in the WWF, but there was no brighter star at last night’s induction than Jake “The Snake” Roberts who had the best speech of the night on the eve of WrestleMania.
