One of the Minnesota Twins’ star players had to exit Sunday afternoon’s game against the Cleveland Indians after being hit by a pitch.
Josh Willingham was drilled by a Justin Masterson pitch in the top of the first inning. He stayed in to run the bases, but he was replaced in the bottom of the inning by Jason Bartlett. Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reported that initial x-rays on Willingham’s wrist came back negative and he is diagnosed as day-to-day with a bruised left wrist. With any luck, Willingham may miss no more than one start.
