Nats' Ian Desmond trying to quit dip

Sometimes it’s the victories that can’t be seen on the field that matter the most.

As Ian Desmond began his locker room media session, he revealed to all around that he had not carried any dip with him to the ballpark. Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post says that the shortstop has been on a quest to quit dipping and that going a full game without the tobacco was “a bigger victory than beating the Braves.”

The Nationals beat the Braves 2-1 Sunday afternoon, and Desmond went 1-for-3 with an RBI knock and a run scored.
