The Cleveland Browns plan to work out a number of the top signal-callers in the 2014 NFL Draft before May, but it appears that they may already have one player who is their top target with the No. 4 overall pick, which is the team’s first of two first-rounders.
According to ESPN’s Ashley Fox, there is a “growing sentiment” that the Browns could select Fresno State standout Derek Carr with the No. 4 overall pick.
Carr has been impressive throughout the draft season with his performance at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama and during his Pro Day, so his stock is certainly on the rise.
If the Browns are sold on making Carr their quarterback of the future, they would be wise to use their first pick to make the selection rather than to take the risk of waiting until pick No. 26 to see if he falls into their laps.
