Rays are last team to commit an error

The Tigers were the last team in baseball to lose a game, and there are now no more error-less teams in baseball either.

In the top of the 9th inning, Rangers’ third baseman Adrian Beltre hit a chopper to his Tampa Bay Rays counterpart Evan Longoria. Longoria’s throw was high, and Beltre was able to reach safely. That was the first error of the season for Tampa Bay and also rendered them the last team to have committed an error in 2014.

The error came back to hurt Tampa Bay, as Josh Lueke  allowed a single to Alex Rios before getting two outs on a double play grounder from Mitch Moreland. With Beltre at third, Donny Murphy hit a grounder to Yunel Escobar, whose throw was late, resulting in Beltre crossing the plate. The Rangers went up 3-0.
