The Washington Redskins have been under a lot of criticism for their name and logo with a national push to get it changed. Robert Griffin III has announced a logo change this weekend, but it’s no the one we’ve all been waiting for.

Instead, Griffin III revealed not a team logo but a new individual logo. It’s not only the first look at a new logo for RGIII but it’s also the first photo he’s posted on his newly christened Instagram account.

This, of course, will not only make fans looking for a logo change feel isles by Robert Griffin III but it will also draw further criticism to the quarterback for creating his own brand before there is a brand with his team.

That’s not to say the Redskins don’t already have a logo, but they have nothing more than that. The team needs an identity that is doesn’t have yet and until he helps develop that, all of his personal logos will be more of a detriment than something to gush over.
