“The joint was jumpin’ like a cat on hot tin.
Lord, I thought the floor was gonna give in.
Soundin’ a lot like a House Congressional
’cause we’re experimental and professional.

Beer drinkers, hell raisers, yeah.
Well, baby, don’t you wanna come with me?”

-Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard

If FC Dallas fans are the beer drinkers, then the FC Dallas players have to be the hell raisers. The irony to all this: ZZ Top are from Houston! But despite the irony, the rock-and-roll combination decked in red and white rise to the top of our MLS Power Rankings after one of the biggest victories of the season.

A few other teams also moved up after some solid results. Others, not so much, as there were plenty of draws to go around. Let’s take a look at some sharp-dressed teams in this week power rankings.

1. FC Dallas

“I been bad, I been good,
Dallas, Texas, Hollywood.
I ain’t askin’ for much.
I said, Lord, take me downtown,
I’m just lookin’ for some tush.”

Oscar Pareja’s FC Dallas were kicking some tush in the form of the Houston Dynamo in their 4-1 rout at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Tex. Je-Vaughn Watson (61′, 70′) scored a brace, Michel (31′) got things rolling and Giles Barnes also helped Dallas cash in with an own goal in the 68th minute of play. Dallas return to action on Apr. 12 against the Seattle Sounders at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Tex.. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT/8:30 p.m. ET and will be televised by MLS LIVE.
