Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari coached his team tonight in the 2014 NCAA Tournament national championship game against the UConn Huskies, a game that he and the team ultimately ended up losing.
However, hours before the game tipped off, some drama ensued when former Kentucky player Rex Chapman tweeted out that no matter what the outcome of the game was, Calipari would be heading off to take over as the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
After the game, Calipari responded to the rumors, more or less shooting them down.
Calipari: “Lakers have a basketball coach. Kentucky has a basketball coach. I’m not going to dignify that”

Now of course, there is a chance that he wants to keep it tight-lipped if talks are indeed happening, but you never know when it comes to the coaching game.
After his success in the collegiate game, he may have the itch to make a move back to the professional ranks, but for now he’s not going to dignify the rumors.
