NBA Rumors: Kevin Love to the Los Angeles Lakers is no sure thing

The Minnesota Timberwolves obviously want to keep power forward Kevin Love.

Love is one of the elite players in the league and has enjoyed his time in Minnesota, but they will once again miss out on the postseason.

The Timberwolves are likely going to do whatever they can to keep Love and that likely means finding a coach he gets along with to replace Rick Adelman.

That means the Timberwolves likely won’t trade Love and will have to risk the chance that he could leave the team in free agency after the 2014-15 season.

The popular belief is that Love, who is Santa Monica, California native and attended UCLA to play for the Bruins, will jump at the chance to play for the hometown Los Angeles Lakers.

Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders does not believe that is necessarily the case.

Love is averaging 26.0 points, 12.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game this season.

Because everyone bases an article on what Steve Kyler thinks!

Wait a minute, Steve who ? Yeah, nice article :) SUPER LOL.

Love would be pretty dumb to not look at all his options. Not saying he shouldn’t sign with the Lakers but he needs to look at the laker situation then when he can sign with another team. This guy could go down as one of the guys to never get into the playoffs if signed with the wrong team. I don’t know who the writer is either but I think his statement has sense.

Hope he’s thinking about joining the Golden State Warriors. It’s the Warriors 2nd year in the playoffs and their PF David Lee is unhealthy again. They already have a rivalry brewed with the Clippers.

Chris Paul/Blake Griffin vs Stephen Curry/Kevin Love would be amazing.

Well the rockets are ranked higher then gs and love would be a good compliment to Howard. Both teams would have to make some moves to free up cap space to sign love. By next season trade deadline when wolves will want to trade love, the rockets will have the expiring constracts of lin and asik to offload.

do not agree with GS, even though it would be cool to see the three ball go in EVERY SINGLE TIME with a line of curry, clay, andre, and love…i think by the time hes a free agent the lakers will have some rly good talent…and im not just saying that because im a laker fan, i just am good at predicting these sort of trends and when looking at the scenario the lakers r in and the amount of free agents in the future with cap space to fill AND a good draft pick…i think love will be having a home-coming party in the near future
