Shabazz Napier goes nuts, calls UConn the Hungry Huskies (Video)

The UConn Huskies have completed an improbable run through March Madness to emerge the champions of college basketball and a lot of that has to do with the play of point guard Shabazz Naiper.

But while everyone is celebrating the big win by UConn, many are forgetting that the team missed the tournament last season not because they weren’t good enough but because they were academically ineligible. We may have forgotten, but Shabazz Napier didn’t and he took his moment in the spotlight to remind us all just how far UConn has really come.

Was it a Richard Shemran moment, no. But it was the pain and celebration of a true champion and Shabazz Napier won over a lot of hearts and minds this tournament — right up to the very end.
