Houston Texans’ free agent wide receiver Lestar Jean visited a couple of teams in need of a wide receiver in the Carolina Panthers and Miami Dolphins, but could not work out a deal with either team.

On Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings, via their official twitter account, announced that they came to terms with Jean.

Jean, a former Florida Atlantic Owl, went undrafted in the 2011 NFL Draft and signed with the Texans at the conclusion of the lockout. He injured his shoulder in the preseason in the preseason and was placed on injured reserve. He made his debut in 2012, appearing in 14 games and making six catches for 151 yards and a touchdown.

Last season, Jean played in 14 games for the Texans and made for catches for 35 yards.

Jean is listed at 6’3 and 202 pounds so has fantastic size.

Jean will likely compete with the likes of Rodney Smith, Kamar Jordan and whatever rookies the Vikings draft or sign as an undrafted free agent for a spot on the roster.
