Chase Utley scratched from Phillies game with flu

Reports out of Philadelphia list the Phillies’ starting second baseman as unavailable for this afternoon’s game.

Chase Utley is nowhere’s near Citizen’s Bank Park, as the team sent him home because of the flu, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com. In the short week that the 2014 season has existed, Utley leads the National League on OPS with 1.369 in six games.

The lineup has been posted for today’s contest with the Brewers, and it looks like this, without Utley in the lineup.

    Noooooo man he’s starting off so good. I’ve said since winter Sandberg and bowa will have these guys overachieving and playing better than usual. Bowa already did when he was manager taking a very mediocre Phillies team to the playoffs.
