The Crew set to hits streets this fall, says Ubisoft

Ubisoft is preparing to launch the open world game Watch Dogs next month, but this won’t be the only open world game by them this year.

They’re set to release The Crew this fall, according to UbiblogThe Crew is being developed by Ivory Tower and Ubisoft Reflections, and will appear on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

According to CVG, it’s a racer that will span the entirety of the United States, and it will have a story-based campaign based around infiltrating criminal groups.

The single-player campaign is 20 hours long, which allows players to engage in missions alone, with friends or with random co-op players, says Polygon. There are upgrades players can unlock as they progress through the story.

The Creative director Julian Gerighty told Polygon, “The entire game has been assigned with social, group and co-operative play in mind. Where Xbox 360 and PS3 brought us HD graphics, this generation brings a greater focus on community and social features.”

Gerighty described the game as “definitely an RPG” with an emphasis on MMO-style human interactions. “You might be racing against an AI, or it might be another person,” he said.

In multiplayer, players are allowed to create their own crew to compete against other teams in races, take-downs and other challenges.

Ubisoft also announced two special editions for the game.

Limited Edition

This gives players early access to the BMW Z4, Mini Cooper S and Dodge Ram SRT-10 – along with all the respective custom and performance parts. Perfect for anyone who wants a head start in any driving situation, on and off-road. Also includes 10,000 bonus Crew Credits.

Muscle Edition

Everything from the Limited Edition, plus early access to the 2014 Ford Mustang GT. The Muscle Edition can only be pre-ordered at GameStop.
