Social media has become a part of our everyday lives, but now it has all been taken to new heights. American astronaut Steven R. Swanson completed a social media first earlier this week, when he posted a photo on the International Space Station’s observatory module.
The photo shows viewers a glimpse of Planet Earth from outer space and it becomes the first Instagram photo to ever be posted from space.
It is a fascinating photo that brings a unique perspective to how the Earth looks when you are viewing from one of the seven windows in the International Space Station observatory.
If you haven’t seen the photo yet, you can check it out below:
Considering the growing trend on Instagram has been to post photos of your plated meals and label them as “#foodporn” or post ridiculous videos of people attempting to do the latest dance crazes, seeing this photo from the International Space Station is a breath of fresh air and a great way to buck the trend.
