Borussia Dortmund entered Tuesday’s second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid down 3-0 in the aggregate scoreline. They’d need a big offensive performance to try and close the gap and striker Robert Lewandowski said an early goal would be needed.
“We need to write history again,” Lewandowski said, via ESPN FC. ”If we can get an early goal, then there’s a small chance. We mustn’t be afraid.
“We have a minimal chance. It would be crazy to think that I could score four goals again, but we are always dangerous in Dortmund.”
It might not have been as early as Lewandowski would’ve liked, but they got one in the 24th minute. It wasn’t necessarily the prettiest goal, but Reus tipped the ball around the keeper to put it on net.
