MLB Rumors: Golden State Warriors owner interested in buying Oakland Athletics

The Oakland Athletics don’t have a for sale sign yet, but any fan of the franchise will tell you what they’re being put through isn’t fair.

Seeing that, Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob has allegedly had talks with Athletics owner John Fisher about purchasing the team but so far it’s a no go as Lacob has been informed the team isn’t for sale.

Multiple sources: Warriors co-owner Joe Lacob has had talks with A’s owner John Fisher about Lacob’s interest in buying the A’s but the sources indicate that Fisher has to this point told Lacob he is not looking to sell the A’s

Lacob has done a fine job with the Warriors and would do the same with the struggling Oakland organization, who despite low attendance figures, an out of date stadium (that continually floods with raw sewage) and a relatively small payroll continues to compete with financial powerhouses like the Anaheim Angels, Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners.

Hopefully a resolution in regards to the Athletics future will be made in the near future so the franchise can either be sold or build a new stadium.
