The Northwestern student athletes trying to unionize has become a hot topic in the sports world and sparked a lot of debate. Some Ohio lawmakers tried to nip it in the but by throwing in a clause in a budget bill that would ban athletes from unionizing.

On the other side of things, Connecticut state lawmakers are now exploring legislative ways to allow athletes according to a CNN report. That would affect the student athletes at UConn, a state school, that just won the 2014 NCAA men’s basketball national championship.
