One of the biggest criticisms of the game of baseball is that it takes too long. This particular writer disagrees with that notion, but the idea is still there.
For families, a three-hour game that starts at 7:00 or thereabouts can bleed into the twilight hours of the evening and makes it impractical for those who need to send their kids to school early in the morning. Tonight, however, the Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox will play their game an hour early.
Today’s game is starting at 6:10 p.m. as part of the Red Sox’s effort to make games on school nights more accessible to families.

It seems strange to think of a baseball game starting at 6:00, when 7:00 has been the norm, at least for me, for my entire life. Could this be a new trend for baseball? It will be interesting to see what the turnout is at Fenway for a Tuesday night game.
