Report: Evander Kane Scratched for Being Late

Speculation surrounding why Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane was scratched from his team’s 4-2 win over Toronto on Saturday has ranged from not getting along with coaches to breaking team curfew. On Monday night, the actual reason was finally revealed via Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press.

“Can now confirm winger Evander Kane was a healthy scratch Saturday after being late for a team function,” Lawless said via Twitter.

Kane was asked about his scratching on Monday morning, but refused to address a number of items, including whether or not he wanted to be traded out of Winnipeg.
