If you want to seriously throw some ice water on the hope that springs eternal this time of year for a Colorado Rockies fan, remind him/her about the fact that Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez have to stay healthy and they probably won’t. It won’t be the kindest thing you’ll do, but it won’t be far off the truth, either.
So it is that the Rockies already face some nervous times, as Tulowitzki is reportedly dealing with a tight quad muscle. This is especially troubling given the fact that Tulowitzki has missed time in the past with quad injuries, and it is arguably more upsetting to Rockies fans than the somewhat fluky broken rib that sent him to the DL last season.
That said, there is no need to panic yet as Tulowitzki remains in the lineup for the team’s game Tuesday night against the Chicago White Sox. According to Nick Groke of the Denver Post:
Weiss on Tulowitzki’s sore quad said they talk everyday to “make sure we’re on the same page. I’ll continue to keep an eye on him.” #rockies

Tulowitzki is off to a steady start in 2014, batting .417 through seven games so far.
