Amazing Spider-Man 2 has no post-credits scene

One of the many things that Marvel has been excellent about is including post-credit scenes in their films that tease something to come down the line. In every single one of the Marvel Studio films, a scene is tacked onto the end of the film to let us know what is next in the cinematic universe.

For The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which opens nationwide on May 2, it appears that there is no scene included int he credits. According to MSN critics who saw the film, the credits roll sans a post-credit sequence, much to the chagrin of those in attendance.

When the credits rolled, most of the audience stuck around, hoping for a teaser sequence. When none came, boos rang throughout the cinema.

Now, this was a press screening so the post-credit scene could have been lobbed off to preserve the general surprise of moviegoers when the film is released. Obviously we’re hearing about there being no post-credit scene so had there been one, it would have been spoiled.

It’s hard to believe that Sony wouldn’t throw something in at the end, especially considering there is one more film in this trilogy plus a few others in production. Still, this isn’t a Marvel Studios production, it’s a Sony production so the inclusion of post-credit scene isn’t as mandatory as it would otherwise seem.

There wasn’t a post credit scene in my showing but surprisingly they did show a clip from the upcoming X-Men Days of Future Past from FOX in the mid credits which left me with the question have Sony and Fox struck a deal to get the Spidey and X-Men/Fantastic 4 in the same movie universe? or is it just Marvel advertising other Marvel films?
