The New York Jets are amongst the suitors vying for former Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson, so when there were reports that he was in New York City it raised some eyebrows. Johnson isn’t meeting with the Jets however. In fact the people he would be meeting with are out of town.
From the New York Daily News:
The Daily News has learned that free-agent running back Chris Johnson was in New York on Tuesday night, but he is not scheduled to meet with the Jets as part of his trip.
…General manager John Idzik and Rex Ryan will be attending LSU Pro Day on Wednesday.
The Jets are reportedly interested only at the right price and it could mean a huge pay cut for Johnson. There have been reports about his work ethic but that is not an issue for the Jets.
