The Boston Red Sox were down 2-1 when David Ortiz came up to bat in the bottom of the bottom of the 8th inning against the Texas Rangers. With two guys on, Ortiz once again flashed the heroics he has become so famous for in his career.
Big Papi got the barrel out well in front of this one, just keeping it fair down the right field line (and only after a review upheld the call):
With the win, the Red Sox took the rubber match of the series and nudged their record up to 4-5 on the young season. That early mark might be a surprise, if for no other reason than two of the losses came at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers this past weekend. From here the Red Sox head to New York for a four game series with the Yankees.
