The folks at ESPN love getting celebrities involved with their regular programming, especially when it involves hip hop artists on the debate desk of ESPN First Take, and now they will be using a rapper to host their annual awards show.
On Tuesday, “super fan” Drake announced that he would be hosting the 2014 ESPYs, which will be held on July16.

Drake has received plenty of criticism from sports fans for his ever-changing sports allegiances, so it is going to be interesting to see whether or not he takes the opportunity to make fun of himself whenever he hosts the show.
If he doesn’t, it will be a missed opportunity for Drake to generate some laughter with self-deprecating humor that may leave people showing some respect.
However, he’ll likely avoid anything of that nature, and be subject to more criticism and trolling on social media. At least ESPN’s decision will pay off with people tuning in just to see whether or not Drake will fail.
