After a full day and night of Major League Baseball on Wednesday, things slow down a bit on Thursday as many teams travel and get the day off.  In all, there are nine games scheduled for Thursday, April 10, with three in the afternoon and six more under the lights.

Even though there aren’t as many games, there are still some nice starting pitching options widely available on the waiver wire if you need a starting pitching boost or are looking to pick up a good value in a daily fantasy baseball format.

All of my selections are available in at least half of ESPN leagues and their ownership percentage is included in parentheses. For our full fantasy baseball coverage, click here, or you can click here for just our starting pitcher focus.

Here are my picks for Thursday, and you can find my results so far this season on the final slide.

David Hale-Atlanta Braves (0.8%)

Hale didn’t allow a run in his first start of the year, shutting out the Nationals on five hits in five innings while striking out four.

He’ll make his start Thursday against the Mets at home at Turner Field where he made both his starts last season going 1-0 with a 0.82 ERA.  The Mets have not faced Hale before, and I expect a solid outing from the youngster from Princeton even though there is always risk with taking someone with so little MLB experience.
