Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert needs to ‘rest his mind’

The Indiana Pacers knew they wanted to get their players a break and decided there was no better time than the present as they take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.

All five Pacers starters will get the night off, a much needed rest according to center Roy Hibbert who says he needs to rest his mind after the grind of an NBA season.

“Getting our health right, resting our minds and our bodies is probably the best thing,” said Hibbert. “We had a lot of games last month so fatigue might have been a problem. We’re just going to get our mind’s ready for the playoffs.

“A couple days off will probably be good for us.”

It’s not known what head coach Frank Vogel plans to do moving forward – if he’s going to allow players to rest even more if he’s going to want them back in playing shape, ready for the postseason. It’s a fine line between resting a player and messing up their rhythm, but Vogel’s willing to test it given how sluggish the team has looked recently.

For one game, it shouldn’t be a big deal. And for Hibbert, it’s time for a mind rest.
