Kelvin Gastelum vs Nico Musoke set for June 28th

UFC Fight Night 44 added an exciting Welterweight matchup today with the announcement that TUF 17 winner, Kelvin Gastelum will take on Nico Musoke on the June 28th card in San Antonio.

The UFC announced the matchup on Twitter:

The fight is rumored to be the co-main event of the evening. The main event features a Featherweight bout between two streaking contenders, Jeremy Stephens and Cub Swanson.

Nico Musoke made his UFC debut on short notice against Alessio Sakara back in October. In a stunning upset, Musoke was able to finish Sakara via an armbar in the first round. Musoke followed up his impressive UFC debut with a decision victory over Viscardi Andrade back in February.

Kelvin Gastelum has looked great since defeating Uriah Hall to with the Ultimate Fighter Season 17. Since then, he has defeating Brian Melancon by submission and Rick Story via split decision.

This fight seems to be a step back for Gastelum, but if he wins here he will have won four straight inside the Octagon. Couple that with the fact that he is undefeated in 8 pro fights, and Gastelum may get a contender his next time out.
