That likely won’t last that much longer though as their market is already heating up.
Given that both players would require a team to forfeit a draft pick if they were to sign, Morales and Drew have been sitting in the free agent pool and will likely continue to do so until June’s Amatuer Draft passes. Once that happens, neither player will be attached to draft pick compensation which should open up their markets considerably.
Knowing that, scouts have already been in attendance watching as the two in recent weeks:
Several teams recently have come to scout Kendrys Morales and Stephen Drew, the top two free agents remaining on the market, and things seem to be heating up a bit with the two players who have been working out here for most of the past six weeks.
No teams have been officially linked to either player at this point, though Jon Heyman suggests the Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle Mariners as teams who are believed to be intrigued with Morales. Drew’s market is a little more cloudy, however.
