Nets' Mason Plumlee still got towel duty after game-winning block on LeBron James

Mason Plumlee still got towel duty

Brooklyn Nets forward Mason Plumlee got a big game-winning block on a LeBron James dunk against the Miami Heat on Tuesday night. It wasn’t enough to get him the night off from the obligations of a rookie, like towel duty.

“I just told him big play, but get the towels,” Joe Johnson said, via Newsday’s Roderick Boone. “Get your towels, and make sure you get us some Gatorade and water and meet us at the bus.”

“Get the towels, I need some wings and get the bags!” Paul Pierce shouted at him, via  Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com. “You done changed, haven’t you? They don’t make rooks like they used to!”

Pierce elaborated in comments to Boone.

“That’s all part of it,” Pierce said. “Even though he had a huge game, national TV, big bucket, big block, he’s still got to come in here and carry the bags and get the towels.”
