It looked like offensive lineman Rich Ohrnberger’s days could be numbered in San Diego.

The Chargers did not show as much interest in keeping Ohrnberger as he would have liked early on in free agency and Ohrnberger took a visit to the New York Jets to flirt with the idea of moving across the country.

Instead, the Chargers will be hanging on to the five-year veteran, according to the official twitter account of the team.

Ohrnberger was originally drafted by the New England Patriots with the 123rd overall pick of the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. The former Penn State Nittany Lion signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2012 and joined the Chargers in the offseason last year.

Although Ohrnberger did not play as many snaps as he probably would have liked, the Chargers returned to the postseason and he seems happy to return, although he’d obviously prefer a longer deal.
