The Carolina Panthers made a great signing on Thursday night by agreeing to a two-year deal with free agent safety Thomas DeCoud. The Panthers confirmed their news on the team’s official website.

“Thomas provides a veteran in the secondary who is familiar with the NFC South and has been a very solid player,” Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said in a statement. “We are pleased to add him to a safety group that has good experience and production.”

Over the past five seasons, DeCoud has been the starting safety with the Atlanta Falcons and now he will look to continue his career by remaining in the NFC South.

DeCoud has 375 tackles and 14 interceptions in his NFL career.
