Anyone who has watched even one episode of the hit HBO Original Series Game of Thrones has some level of distaste for the brat king known as Joffrey Baratheon. While he may believe that his people love him and that his position as ruler of the Seven Kingdoms is as safe as ever, but there are quite a few people who are looking to sit atop the Iron Throne, and over the course of the new season will be making their way in his direction.
In a string of videos from HBO, various cast members from the series tell fans why it is that their character should sit atop the Iron Throne. At this point, there is only one of the three that actually has a fighting chance of making their way to the top; however, each story is interesting in their own right.
The first person we hear from is the lovable Hodor. Now, while Hodor may not be the most intellectual of leaders, actor Kristian Nairn, who plays Hodor in the series, explains why it is he who should sit on the Iron Throne.
This brings us to our next contender, which is Brienne of Tarth. In the next clip, we see actress Gwendoline Christie discuss why she thinks Brienne would make the perfect ruler.
This brings us to the one person out of the group who stands the greatest chance of actually making their way to the Iron Throne, and someone who would clearly enjoy bringing the reign of King Joffrey Baratheon to an end; Arya Stark. Check out Maisie Williams’ take on why Arya should take the Iron Throne for herself.
The question now is, who do you think should sit atop the Iron Throne? Is it one of the characters mentioned above, or do you think someone else, like maybe the beautiful Daenerys Targaryen who should be seated upon the most uncomfortable looking throne in the realm? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
Game of Thrones airs on Sunday nights at 9:00 p.m. on HBO.
