The NBA future of Michigan Wolverines star Nik Stauskas is on hold as reports that he’s entering the NBA Draft this summer seem to be premature. While ESPN.com’s Jeff Goodman reported on Thursday that Stauskas would be entering the draft, Stauskas himself denied the report on his official twitter account.
Just wanted to reiterate that any reports about my future intenions are FALSE! I have NOT made ANY decisions on my future yet!
— Nik Stauskas (@NStauskas11) April 10, 2014
The decision for Stauskas to enter the draft must be made by April 15th, as that’s the deadline for underclassmen to declare. Should he decide to declare for the draft in June, Stauskas is expected to be a lottery pick and isn’t expected to slide too far down draft boards. It’s unclear whether Stauskas’ denial of reports he’s declaring for the draft are because he’s waiting to announce it on his own or if he’s truly still undecided about returning to Michigan.
